"Mindfulness and Loving Presence in Transformative Relationships"
Presented by T. Flint Sparks, Ph.D

In a world which is constantly telling us who we are, what we should be, and how we should act, it is an enormous challenge to simply be ourselves. Getting to know who and what we truly are can be a profoundly liberating journey and living fully into that realization requires true courage. That courage is intelligence and love in action. This is the flowering of both emotional and spiritual maturity and cannot be accomplished alone. Humans develop and thrive in relationship with others. We are built that way, and the foundation of all nourishing relationships is the simple inspiration of Loving Presence.

This brief presentation will offer an overview of Loving Presence as the fundamental container and state of mind in which any transformational relationship flourishes. This is not a contrived or fabricated state, but as one cultivates the skills of mindfulness and assisted self-discovery, the natural qualities of compassion, curiosity, creativity, and kindness are revealed. These are the essence of a person’s true nature and support their deepest aspirations and clearest vision.

The evening will include both an overview of mindfulness and the loving presence sequence, but will be primarily experiential so that participants can actually get a taste of the work.

T. Flint Sparks, Ph.D brings an array of knowledge and skills to ICF from over thirty years of experience as a Psychologist, consultant, and teacher. With graduate degrees in both Biology and Psychology, his training is grounded in an organic, systems oriented, ecological view of the world. His experience as a psychotherapist and teacher has further underscored the richness and creative potential of intimate relationships and small groups. Today he leads workshops and retreats worldwide with an emphasis on the intersection of contemporary psychology and Eastern contemplative practices. He has consulted in cancer treatment centers through out the United States and is currently an adjunct faculty at Seton Cove, a part of the Seton Healthcare Network, where he teaches as part of their innovative Leadership programs.

Coming Up in September!

"The Web Is Your Oyster Presented by Connie Reece

Social media and social networking are not just buzzwords. Communications specialist Connie Reece, co-founder of Austin's Social Media Club and advisory board member for the international group, will show how to build an effective Internet presence that will have clients searching for you, not the other way around. No lecture. No boring PowerPoint. Just an hour of highly interactive discussion--and we expect several role-playing opportunities to occur spontaneously during the session, so come prepared to learn and to share.

After the meeting, join us at the nearby Schlotzky's (218 S. Lamar Blvd.), where Connie will demonstrate how to create a Facebook page by creating one for the Austin ICF chapter.

The evening will include both an overview of mindfulness and the loving presence sequence, but will be primarily experiential so that participants can actually get a taste of the work.

For more than 30 years Connie Reece has been writing for publication and consulting with companies and nonprofits on their marketing and communication needs. Connie is a co-founder of the Social Media Club, a global community for the users and creators of emerging media, and is the founder of EveryDotConnects, a consortium of marketing and media practitioners who are passionate about using new technologies to build bridges between people and ideas and causes. When a friend was diagnosed with breast cancer in late 2007, Connie created the Frozen Pea Fund, now incorporated as a nonprofit organization with the mission of funding breast cancer research, education and programs.

*Parking*
Parking for Casa de Luz is on the street. There are gravel parking lots across the street for the baseball fields with signs that state that and threaten to tow all others. I park there and have not had any problems. But that's me...so park at your own risk.

If you like, come early for a delicious macrobiotic meal in Casa De Luz’s dining room. This is an Austin institution and one we love supporting. You may bring snacks but we request only vegetarian foods in this space.

Activity Fee Policy
The fee for ICF members is $10.00 and $15 for non-members. This fee
covers activities and meeting costs.
Come to the meeting and help create the Austin Coaching Community!

Please RSVP by emailing Kelli@TrueNatureLifeCoaching and/or call 512.904.9101 if you have any questions.
Thanks ya'll!
